Randy and I met  at what was formerly known as Daniels...but became fast friends at what I hope is STILL NBHS...we were a group of boys whose center was Randy and his wonderful&understanding parents...their home was our home and there were many of us...when things got boring it was time to find Randy...because he would just make things happen. He was the kind of energetic person to which others functioning in a lower orbital are attracted.  Freshmen year we were room mates at Chapel Hill.  It was like living with a bug light...people in and out....Fortunately he threw out his back second semester allowing some academic recuperation.  After school he became a good old Raleigh boy and I moved out west. I next saw him>40years later at the 50th....it took about 30 seconds to know why he was my friend....I am haunted by his passing...there could have been so much more but I treasure what there was.              His Pal...Darvy

In high school Randy brought me a great deal of joy and helped make life enjoyable. Now, with his death, my life is much diminished. I will always miss him greatly and will remember him fondly.
