Barbara Perkins (Perkins)

Barbara & I were best friends in elementary school.  She had a wonderfully creative family.  Her mother worked from home and we would make up plays with her sister, Sherry, and present them to our only audience, her mother.

Another passtime was making go-carts out of some kind of wooden platform with lawn mower wheels.  Our brake was a piece of wood nailed to the side which we could pivot down to scrape the street.  We would ride them down the Georgian Terrace hill.  It's a wonder we survived but we had alot of fun.

She turned her cooking talents in to an avocation and I enjoyed dining at her restaurant and catching up when she could get away from the kitchen.  She came by her culinary skills honestly as her mother was a superb cook.

The "two Barbaras": Gray and Dick. Yes, best friends they were and both members of my brownie and girl scout troops. I occasionally was at one or the other of their homes to spend an afternoon....now what are called "playdates". Great gals, both!
