Belton Jones was one of the first people I met at Daniels Jr. High when my family moved to Raleigh in 1963. We laughed a lot and went to movies together and pondered the Beatles and I always laughed when he showed his subtle since of humor. He was a good looking kid and turned many young girl's heads - but he never knew it. After asking around for years I still don't know where he drifted off to or what happened to him - the last time I heard from him was about 1972.

Whatever his story was in his later years, I remember Belton as a nice guy and a good friend. If anyone has any additional info about his life, please contact me and fill me in. The guy was a bright spot in my early days in Raleigh.

I remember Belton from Junior High track 440 race, he at Daniels, me Martin.  He always seemed to win those dual meets.  People may not know that Belton played the clarinet in the 9th grade All City Band.  Was also good singer in Broughton Ensemble.
