I remember Charles as having a great sense of humor because of the following incident:

We were in 4th grade and we were doing a health unit.  The teacher asked us when was the last time we saw our dentist and Charles said, "This morning."  I thought that was pretty clever for 4th grade.  (His father is a dentist!)

And I recall when his family built that HUGE, new home on Ridge Road. It was the first 'update' along that strip and for a junior high student (me), it was so amazing.

I knew Charles, we called him Chuck, from kindergarten.  His sister Barbara and I were friends, and our families were close.  Such a bright guy, Chuck assembled a color television from scratch in high school.  We went to a Peter, Paul, and Mary concert together in 1965. Chuck had a beautiful smile and a gentle way.  His dad passed away this year.  My best to this dear family and to Chuck's family.
