As Drew Wood wrote, Nick always had a smile on his face. He contributed to our Class in many ways. Nick was a Homeroom Officer, member of the Monogram Club, manager of the Eastern AAAA winning football team earning the recognition of the best high school football team in the State and a member of the wrestling team. Our Class of 1967 appreciates your efforts and support forever. May you rest in peace.🌺

Nicky was a gentle soul with a ready smile and easy laugh. He kept the football locker room loose with his honest observations and sense of humor. Nicky was a good friend to all who knew him. Rest in peace my friend.

I got to know Nicky throught Al Godwin. They both lived on the same street and were as close as brothers. From Junior High at Daniels on, Nicky was a part of all of us who played football at Daniels and at Broughton. Even though Nicky could not play with us our senior year, he was a Team Manager and he was as close to the players and coaches as anyone. He loved to have a good time and I remember his laughter and squinted eyes whenever something was really funny!

Al, Doug Peacock and Nicky lived together on a lake up in north Raleigh in the mid 1970's. I would go and visit them when I ws traveling back through Raleigh (before moving back in 1981). They all played music and were always up to some foolishness. We spent many fun nights around a fire with them playing their music.

Our paths crossed some after I moved back to Raleigh in the 1980s, usually whenever  Al came to town. Over the final 6 months or so, I called Nicky on occassion to check in and see if he needed anything. Despite the pain, medications and treatments, he was always positive and asked for nothing. He was gentle sole, a good man, and a great friend. I am sure he is in a better place, free of pain and with his other family menbers!

Rest in Peace my friend, you will always be remembered!
