I believe Carol had leukemia from an early age. I remember her using some sort of interactive device to participate in class from home. My memory is that she never complained and was always pleasant.
Carol passed away at age 15. I was the first recipient of the Carol Tilley Scholarship. A small group of us visited her at home during her last months. I tried to keep up with visits on occasion to her parents after Carol's death. BUT at age 15-16, I wasn't sure how to handle all that. Carol's death was the first death of a close friend in my life. She/it is still very real. She was a beautiful, quiet redhead!
