BS Applied Math NCSU graduated 1971
1971-1981 worked as programmer in Economics Dept at NCSU, Knew Jim Goodnight when he was a graduate student there in statistic. Used SAS Software before it was privatized in 1976. I worked with several of the previous owners before joining SAS in 1981. I thought that I was taking a chance by going to work for such a small startup company. When I joined SAS there were about 60 employees and there was just one bulding. My son was in daycare there and I could walk right next door to visit him. Now he is working in Technical Support and that is where I started out when I went to work there. I am now working as a manager/programmer in the Knowledge Management Center which is responsible for generating global sales reports.
I met my husband in 1980, he was the first man that I met that did not ask me how tall I was when I first met him. I am still six foot one inches tall. I keep waiting to shrink with age but so far it hasn't happened.
My husband has retired but I truly love going to work every day. In fact I cannot wait to get there every day. Pretty good after 31 years!!
