I knew Polly at Broughton and later on at UNC. She was a delightful, witty and very smart lady. I am so sorry to hear that her life has somehow been cut short. My thoughts are with her family.
I have not seen Polly since Broughton... But I cannot forget her radient smile and grace.. And she was just so nice to all. After reading her obituary, I can tell she lived a life helping and caring for others, loving her family and and enjoying ... My heart goes out to her family and all those who loved her.
Polly was one of the kids from the old neighborhood. Always a cheerful, kind person from the time I first met her when we were 10 or so. Sorry to hear of her loss, RIP, Polly.
I remember Polly as an effervescent person with a spring in her step which caused her blond ponytail to sway from side to side as she walked. I spoke to her before our 40th reunion to encourage her to come. At that time, she was living in Virginia and shared that she had stage 4 breast cancer and preferred to spend her time relaxing there. Her voice was very calm and soothing and she seemed at peace. She was grateful for the contact from our class and wished everyone well.
Polly really was a ray of sunshine, from the Frances Lacy days onward......reading her obit gave me the distinct impression that her radiance shown throughout her whole life. We were all fortunate to have known her.
I liked Polly so much in high school, and I wish that we could have kept up with each other. I remember that she enjoyed being in school plays, and she always had a smile for everyone. She was a delightful person to be around.
