I was saddened to hear about our loss of one of my best friends as a "kid" -- Ricky Rice. My younger brother and I would often play with Ricky and his younger brother Carter at their house on Canterbury Road, when were students together at Sherwood Bates Elementary School. Ricky and I would meet up a few more times later on at Broughton. Ricky's father Richard was already a well-known architect. Glad to know --and not surprising -- that Ricky went on to a architectural career, as I would have expected. Ricky was a very well respected Broughton student, being inducted into the National Honor Society and I think the Service Club.
Very sad to hear about Ricky, one of my Canterbury Road neighbors and classmate from elementary school (possibly kindergarten).
Several years ago, we caught up in NYC. He had an apartment on the West Side, near Central Park and Columbus Circle. He proudly showed me some of the projects he worked on, and we had dinner with a lot of conversation along the lines of "what happened to...". A truly good guy.
